Simon Klose is an award-winning Swedish director and producer with a track record of creating culturally resonant, tech-savvy documentaries that captivates global audiences. His breakout movie, “TPB AFK: The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard,” became an international sensation, igniting worldwide discussions on digital rights and internet freedom in 2013.
In 2015 Simon produced and hosted the popular VICE Munchies series “Food Hacking Japan” that delved into the future of Japanese cuisine through the lens of culinary disruptors in Tokyo.
His most recent film, “Hacking Hate,” won the Best Documentary Feature award at Tribeca 2024, solidifying his status as a filmmaker with a finger on the pulse of today’s most pressing social issues.
With a Master’s in Law from Stockholm University and fluency in Japanese, Simon’s work consistently pushes boundaries, blending compelling storytelling with incisive cultural commentary.
